BABGOC (Bali, May 15, 2008) - Prof. Dr. Nyoman Adiputra, program Head of Medical Services and Doping Control will be in Bali during the Chef de Mission Seminar along with Dr. Ketut Widana, Head of doping control, Dr. Gede Wiartana and Dr. Bagus who are the Heads of Medical & Healthcare for the Asian Beach Games here in Bali.
They will be briefing the 45 NOC’s and the OCA representatives on the medical and healthcare services that the Bali Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee will be providing during Games-time.
The Program will provide an accessible and efficient Medical and Healthcare Service complimentary to all persons involved in the Games. First Aid and Emergency Care, as well as Consultation and Health Preventative Services will be offered by Support Hospitals and Clinics.
The Sanglah Central Hospital, as the primary referral hospital of the region is set to be the official referral hospital for the Games. It is manned by competent medical specialists who are affiliated with the prestigious Medical School of Udayana University.
Furthermore, there will be a session on the doping control services to be implemented during the Games in accordance with the doping control policy of the OCA and the World Anti-Doping Code. This will contribute to the international anti-doping movement and work towards fair, equal and healthy competition for all athletes.
A Doping Control service and facility will be provided at all competition venues and selected training sites. It will also provide information, educational materials relating to the doping control rules and procedures and on the dangers of doping.
